As we all know, the catastrophic bushfires across Australia has devastated communities, lives, forests, and wildlife. As one of the largest fire devastations to occur in the world in recent times, it is estimated that Australia has lost about half a billion of its precious wildlife, in addition to millions of acres of land lost and the destruction to lives. Australia has been home to a vast number of Sri Lankans for decades and has always stood in solidarity with Sri Lanka at times of need. At times of such need, it is our duty to come together as a community to extend much-needed assistance to ease the impact of this destruction.
On behalf of the Sri Lankan community in Western Australia, The Sri Lankan Cultural Society WA (SLCWA) is in the process of organising a fundraising event in aid of the Rural Fire Services and the impacted communities. This event is espoused to be held on the 26th of January 2020 (Australia Day). Other event-related information will be made available as soon as they are finalised.
Until then, the SLCSWA has set up an opportunity for the community to donate funds to the Rural Fire Services, wildlife organisations, and communities. As your contribution to this would be highly appreciated, I encourage you to support this cause by donating funds to the following account:

My thoughts are with everyone impacted by this catastrophe. I believe Australia will rebuild from this devastation, with the help of communities across the world.
Sincerely,
